Why
have policies?
Since a public
library belongs to the entire community, boards of trustees have been
created by law to act as the governing body of the library. In order
to provide for smooth operations of the library and well-managed,
well-planned services, a board of trustees works with the director to
develop policies and procedures.
FINES
AND LOAN PERIOD:
Books, CD's, audiocassettes, books-on-tape and magazines are loaned for
two weeks with two renewals as long as the item is not on reserve for
another patron. Fines are 25 cents per day for each item each day
overdue.
Videos and
DVDs are loaned for three (3) days with a limit of five (5) videos/DVDs
checked out at one time per household. These items may be renewed up to two
times as long as there is not a reserve placed. A one-dollar ($1.00) per day
fine is imposed for overdue videos.
The
maximum fine for each item will equal but not exceed the cost of the item.

Trustees on May 20, 2003.)
INTERNET USE
POLICY:
The Paulding County Carnegie Library is proud to provide high-speed access
to the Internet at the main library in Paulding and branches in the
villages of Antwerp, Oakwood and Payne.
Policies are adopted that guide the legal use of access in the public
library. This policy must be read and agreed upon by the card holder
and/or legal adult guardian before Internet access is provided.

Policy.
USA Patriot Act of 2001
Policy:
Life has changed for libraries and library staff since 9/11. When
Congress passed the USA Patriot Act of 2001, new parameters in
confidentiality and privacy issues had to be addressed.

computers) without acquiring a library card.
- Library computers (not OPACS) are only to be used by patrons with a
valid Paulding County Library card.
