PAULDING: Sammie "Sam" Mullins, age 55, died 3:15 AM (EDT) Tuesday, June 8, 2004, in Boston Heights, Ohio.
He was born November 7, 1948, in Gapville, Kentucky, the son of Dennis and Curtis (Miller) Mullins. On January 20, 1972, he married Wilma Sue Marsh, who survives. He was employed as a manager of local operations for Alltel Corporation for 30 years. He served two terms in the US Army during the Viet Nam Conflict. He was a former member of Kenton, Ohio Masonic Lodge FA&M, former member of Paulding Lions Club, former member of Paulding Kiwanis Club, and a former Boy Scout Leader of Troop #320, Paulding. He was a member of the Paulding County Carnegie Library Board for 18 years, and Paulding VFW Post #587.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Mullins, Paulding, a daughter, Sonja (Gaylord) Proxmire III, Paulding; a son, Shawn Mullins, Bryan; a sister, Penny (Dennis) Seabright, Kenton; three brothers, Denver (Trish) Mullins, Charlie (Dorothy) Mullins, both of Kenton, and Danny Mullins, of Sidney, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Tommy Mullins, and an infant grandson Jonathan Proxmire.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM (EDT) Friday, June 11, at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, with Pastor Glenn Sprang and Pastor Michael Joseph Wells officiating. Burial will be in Paulding Memorial Cemetery, with military graveside services.
Visitation will be 5-9 PM (EDT) Thursday, June 10, and 8:AM to time of services on Friday, at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding.
