2002 Raffle Huge Success
Special thanks to:
Romaine Boundy for crocheting and donating the beautiful queen size
bed cover. We wonder how many hours were donated to J.P.H.S. by this
faithful member in making such a lovely work of art. We all wanted
to win it, but it was won by Beulah Weller.
Gloria Craig, local artist who made and donated the commemorative
cookie jar designed for J.P.H.S. 25th Anniversary - 1977-2002. This
one of a kind precious piece was won by Barbara Geer.
The late Betty Bradford made and donated many prizes and gifts
during her years as a member. Her love of children was the reason
she crocheted so many boy and youth afghans for us. Her last one was
won by Edna Parson.
We want to thank each and everyone of you for participating in this
project. Always remember your gift sends a message: "Yes,
we can have an educational museum", and donations are tax deductible
for you. The best part is your generosity keeps our doors open, free
to all visitors, especially our youth.
We received $550 in donations and $2079 in ticket sales.
Thank you again for your generosity and with your help we will continue to
have a first class museum at the John Paulding Historical Society complex
across from the fairgrounds. -- Virginia Paulus, Chair, 2002
J.P.H.S. Raffle Ohio's
Bicentennial
There are many Bicentennial events taking place around
the state. One being here in our county at the Flat Rock Creek
Festival. The Bell Casting team will be here to cast Paulding County's
bell. You will want to plan to be here and join in. There will be a
Celebration of Lake Erie Heritage: Tall Ships from July 9-20, 2003.
Thank You
A thank you to the Paulding County Highway Department
for fixing a drainage problem we had out at Barn II. They eliminated
the water problem and we do appreciate them for it. We still need
100 feet of steel pipe (3 or 4 in.) to finish the drainage
crossings. Could you help us with this? If so contact Dick
Parrish at 419-594-2287.
The painters who are giving our building a new look: Mitch Boundy, Gerald
Gardner, Angie Pollock, Dennis Thrasher, Joe Allen.
Those who are repairing all the old picture frames: Jim Clark, Darl Vance,
Charles Fillman, Jim Morisy, Dan Nutter, Kenny Thomas, Harold Parrish, and
Dave Verfaille
To Susie Thrasher and Dolly Shisler who chaired the Festival of Trees
exhibit and did such an outstanding job having the best year yet with
beautiful trees and the most participation ever. Hope all of you
were out to see it because if you didn't you really missed a wonderful
sight.
To the Endowment fund Trustees who have completed their project:
John Betz, Tony Langham and Susan Paulus. Thank you to Kay Lanham who
helped with flyers.
For the new cook, storage shed which was built and will be finished after
the weather breaks in the spring we say thank you to:
