The Paulding
County Carnegie Library system has been recognized both statewide and
nationally as a recipient of grants that enhance service.
GRANTS
Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
The most recent grants include the Bill and Melinda Gates
Foundation grants awarded in 2001. As
a result of this program, 26 high-speed computers, including a training
lab, were installed system-wide.
Library
Service & Technology Act
Also in 2001, the
library received federal funds via the Library Service and Technology Act
(LSTA) to
upgrade the library's automated system via innovative technologies.
The library’s new automated system, Polaris by Gaylord
Information Systems,

allows the library to be compliant for the new statewide resource-sharing
program to be in place in 2003.
Ohio
Historical Society / Longaberger Initiative
In 2002 the
library received word they will receive an Ohio Bicentennial Historical
marker. The library and the
county courthouse are the only recipients of this honor in Paulding
County. This significant
historical marker was installed in September 2003.
