Computer Lab
The Paulding County Carnegie Library offers FREE computer classes.  These popular classes are held in the Computer Lab located at the historic Carnegie library in Paulding. Pre-registration is required.  Contact the library at 419-399-2032 for more information or to register for a class.

  • All classes are free.

  • All classes are taught in a friendly, casual and non-pressured environment.

  • Advance registration is required.

  • Classes held in Computer Lab at the main historic library in Paulding.

  • There is a limit of 10 patrons per class (unless some want to “double up”).

  • Classes may be cancelled if no more than five register.

  • Classes may be cancelled due to inclement weather.

Introduction to Microsoft Word
Intended Audience: Patrons with basic computer and typing skills who want to learn basic information about Microsoft Word
This class will use Microsoft Word and will teach students how to create a document; use different functions to make changes in their document; import a photo or picture; print a document.

Introduction to the Internet
Intended Audience: Patrons with basic computer skills who want to learn how to explore and navigate the Internet
Participants will learn a brief history of the Internet; how to type in an Internet address; navigate the screen with different browsers; learn about domain names; learn how to use search engines; browse helpful government, health and educational sites; and identify free e-mail sites.

Let’s Learn About Excel!
Intended Audience: Patrons with basic computer skills who want to learn about how to create spreadsheets
Spreadsheet programs can be complicated, especially if your brain is not wired to understand their analytical nature. Have you always wanted to learn how to organize finances or budgets in a spreadsheet, but thought you could not understand the process? Join us on this introductory class where you will learn how to input data, create formulas and even use color to create an easy to read spreadsheet that makes sense.

Learn Basic Microsoft Publisher
Intended Audience: Patrons with basic computer and typing skills that are comfortable with MS Word
MS Publisher is a publishing software that allows you to create, customize and publish materials such as newsletters, brochures, flyers, catalogs, web sites and much more. Students will learn how to access pre-designed templates, create a flyer, and create a one-page newsletter.

Rattle your Family Tree! Explore Genealogy
Intended Audience: Patrons with basic computer skills that are comfortable on the Internet and who are interested in genealogy.
Students will explore different online tools they can use to search their genealogy including navigating the library’s genealogy database, Ancestry.com where they will learn how to input family names. Understand the findings; explore maps, ship records, photos, etc. Be careful what you ask for… you might have skeletons in your closets!!
